What is PASS (Plymouth & South Shore Association of REALTORS®)?
The Plymouth and South Shore Association of REALTORSâ (PASS) is a professional trade organization consisting of over 2,400 members in 24 communities from the Neponset Bridge to the Cape Cod Canal.
Members are united in purpose and dedication to providing knowledgeable and ethical real estate services to consumers and fellow members.
When you join this Association, you join on three levels:
· National (NAR)
The National Association of REALTORS® is the nation’s largest trade and professional group, representing over one million members belonging to more than 1,800 boards throughout all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. www.realtor.org
· State (MAR)
The Massachusetts Association of REALTORS® is one of the most active professional trade associations in the Commonwealth. www.marealtor.org
· Local (PASS)
The Plymouth and South Shore Association of REALTORS® is the second largest REALTOR® Association in Massachusetts. www.passrealtors.com
All three levels have a multitude of benefits and services to educate you, help you run your business smoothly and effectively and save you money on products you need for your business and personal use. Your REALTOR® Associations are RESOURCES with teams of professionals working behind the scenes for YOU!
Association activities are governed by an elected Board of Directors. The Board establishes policies and programs to meet the needs of its members. The Board of Directors is organized annually with the election of Officers and Directors and is governed by the Association’s Bylaws. They are assisted in their undertakings by various Committees that provide advice and counsel to the Board.
The Plymouth County Board of REALTORS® and the South Shore Association of REALTORS® merged in 2001 to become Plymouth and South Shore Association of REALTORS®. Inc. The jurisdiction of the Association assigned by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) includes the towns of Abington, Braintree, Bridgewater, Carver, Cohasset, Duxbury, East Bridgewater, Halifax, Hanover, Hanson, Hingham, Holbrook, Hull, Kingston, Marshfield, Norwell, Pembroke, Plymouth, Plympton, Quincy, Rockland, Scituate, Weymouth and Whitman.

When Is a Licensed Real Estate Agent a REALTOR®?
A licensed real estate agent is a REALTOR® when he or she becomes a member of the National Association of REALTORS®, The Voice for Real Estate®, the world's largest professional association. The term REALTOR® is a registered collective membership mark that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the National Association of REALTORS® and subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics.
